So yeah.. the holidays happened. It was hectic and busy and mostly wonderful (see my “How to treat your Goddess post”!) Followed by a lot of catching up on bills and then my birthday on the 26th of Jan which was delightful.
My sweet BF started my day by making me tea with fresh baked scones with clotted cream which is totally one of my favorite things in the world. Then later I discovered that he and my ex (who is still one of my best friends) he conspired to surprise me with a birthday lunch with my 3 favorite people in the world! Yup they totally made me cry in the restaurant. Which was followed by a lovely evening of relaxing and watching movies at home with the kitties. (Oh and a couple of Pokemon raids) It was absolutely perfect!
Of course the realization that you are getting older can be a bit of a downer but I remind myself often that it sure beats the alternative and I have never exactly been one to “act my age” for the most part so life is still a whole lot of fun more often than not! But I also know I am not getting any younger and that I need to work a bit harder to have as much fun as I can .. while I can. Or as my favorite kid and I always say: We have places to go.. things to do and FUN TO HAVE!!!
This year, I have resolved to go to as many concerts as I possibly can starting with Matt Nathanson at Irving Plaza on Feb 20th in NYC. (which was truly amazing!!) He is without a doubt my favorite singer / songwriter of all time and I personally think he is one of the sexiest men on the planet. <grin> I LOVE the way he moves when he sings.. like OMG, seriously sexy. I nearly cried when I got to meet him last week and I was blown away to find out that he is a genuinely nice guy too. There is almost nothing worse than finding out someone you admire is actually a dick but Matt was open and engaging and genuinely freaking nice. I didn’t think it was possible for me to like him more than I already did but I do. Made my month! In fact I am going back to see him on Long Island in April!
I am taking my favorite young person to see Hamilton for their 16th birthday in very early May and then two days after that, the kid and I and 2 of her friends are going to see Any Black at the Palladium! Andy is lead singer of the Black Veil Brides and has a great solo career as well (he has an amazingly sexy baritone).
I also bought myself a lawn pass to Xfinity Theatre in Hartford this year so that I can catch every show they have that allows lawn seating. I am looking forward to quite a few starting with Hootie and the Blowfish, Dave Matthews, Santana, Zac Brown and Breaking Benjamin with Three Days Grace! Like “OMG”!!! <grin> In fact, most of those shows I will likely be going to alone so if you want to grab a ticket and hang with me at any of them .. let me know! I am cool going to shows on my own but love hanging out and listening to great music with nice people too. 🙂
Anyway, perhaps best of all … I just freaking scored VIP tickets to Warped Tour Atlantic City which this year is a 2 two day event! And then I also grabbed a pair for WT in Mountain View CA (which is a good thing because I had already booked the hotel and airfare for the two of us). It is going to be a really wonderful “road trip” that includes a day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and 2 days in San Fran! Check out the line up:
This going to be a truly EPIC summer of music and memories. I am crazy excited and thankful for so much right now … but it would definitely be nice to have a bunch of you come make appts so I can have fun upstairs as well. (wink wink hint hint) and then I can tell you all about my adventures AND help me pay for all these concert tickets!!
LOL. Life is good!!
