Last weekend I was fortunate enough to be asked to assist at a workshop event that I absolutely love but haven’t attended in many years: The Body Electric School’s “CBE” or Celebrating the Body Erotic. I cannot begin to describe the multi layered feelings and experiences that happen within the sacred space we gather within and created, over and over again.

When I have attended or assisted at this event in the past I had always done a version that was only for women, while this past weekend it was for all genders,  which I thought was really wonderful because that didn’t mean just men and women, but also trans people who may have had reassignment surgery or who just identify differently from the sex they were given at birth. This retreat creates a community that explores and celebrates the powerful healing that happens when the natural connection between Eros and spirit is restored.

We use conscious breath, nurturing and Taoist erotic massage to open our hearts, wake up our embodied intelligence and expand our capacity for joy. In the supportive community of curious adults we explore feminine and masculine energies within the circle and within each one of us. People of all genders have so much to learn from and teach to each other. All genders and sexual orientations are welcome!

The first thing that brought me amazing joy was that I was able to reconnect with staff members and the coordinator that I originally met almost 20 years ago. Being at Easton with Emaya, William and Suzanne felt like going home after being away for far too long. And I was able to get to know a new fellow assistant.

I would not want to reveal too much about what goes on because taken out of context it might all sound very strange and it can be tough to wrap your mind around. You have to be there in the circle with an open mind and an open heart to “get it”. But the effects are undeniable. I have seen these weekends again and again have life altering effects on people – rejuvenating, eye opening, heart and soul touching, nourishing, healing joyous effects. It is truly amazing.

I always cry with joy as I see the transformative light in people’s faces, or watch someone have that “ah-ha!” moment when you know they are just blown away with what they have experienced. And every single time I come home from a Body Electric weekend I am reinspired and renewed with love for my fellow humans even the ones I don’t always like – because deep inside we all have the same basic wants and needs and many of the ones that are least loveable actually simply need it the most.

Being back in “circle” also reminds me how much more I could be using and teaching others to use their breath to move energy and change their state of being and to build their erotic energy to much higher levels. Yum!! I definitely love the way I feel right now and want to stay connected with this energy.

I have already been asked to assist again at the CBE All genders same place next year which I am truly excited about – and I just worked out the the  logistics to attend the Women’s CBE Reunion in a few weeks! (Huge thanks to my fellow Domina the AMAZING Troy Orleans for her hospitality!
