I freaking LOVE SPRING! Okay, I do think it feels like we sort of skipped Spring and dove right into summer with these recent temps, but I generally prefer warm over cold most days! I have been getting outside a lot more – starting with cleaning out my garden beds and enjoying my small but lovely yard and all the local wildlife and birds that visit. (no sign of the Mama bear or last year’s cub yet)
While I could definitely benefit from the aid of a good lawn care slave, I am loving having the pond and water fall going again and I’ve been keeping my feeders filled on a daily basis. I am also starting to finally get some estimates on making the “hot tub tent” into a more permanent structure and I am mentioning this here in case anyone local that does contracting would like to give me an estimate.
I have also been out and about doing a little hiking. I started off with a fairly easy hike up to Caleb’s Peak in Kent CT. It was a lovely but slightly overcast day and my buddy Dan and I made it up and back in under 2 hours.
Afterwards we had a really nice lunch at a local place and then on the way home I decided to stop off and climb Kent Falls also – just because it is one of my favorite places to visit.
Then yesterday Brett and I got the kayaks out onto Burr pond and did a bit of paddling around the lake. That makes for a great upper body workout the first time out after the looong winter. 😛 My favorite part of the day was spotting turtles. We saw a couple that we didn’t get pics of because they were shy but this enormous snapper totally made my day. 🙂
Ohh AND I had a super busy week in the dungeon and managed to have a half dozen delightful sessions – a couple of 3 and 4 hour ones! I didn’t take a ton of pics but I got a few selfies and session photos that I think I will wait to share in my next post.
Patience my dears <wink>
You, and I, do live in a beautiful neck of the woods. I spent this lovely morning playing disc golf at Norbrook Farm in Colebrook. What a gorgeous morning it was. Have you hiked around Peoples State Forest? One of my faves.
Yes People’s is a beautiful forest! I visited it with a geocaching friend of mine. 🙂
Of course, I love the boots
You should come see them up close Righy! 🙂 Hugs!
