Whew.. OMG what a great event folks! I am sleep deprived and exhausted, a bit sun burned and aching all over but let me see if I can run you a nutshell recap to start with. 🙂
I flew out of NY early last Thursday to come attend and present at Folsom Fringe in San Jose CA. Folsom Fringe is not directly affiliated with the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco but takes place the Friday and Saturday prior. Overall it was a really great event! Nice people, great presenters & classes, decent dungeon space in a beautiful hotel. What more can you ask for?
Thursday night was pretty much a get landed and settle in evening. I registered and went to the nice little social they had in the bar, met a bunch of new folks from the west coast and got to spend time with some folks I had met previously but never really got to hang out with much.
Chiefly I enjoyed spending time with Mick & Dee Luvbight who I had met at Shibaricon several years ago and have always admired. Mick does some fabulous rope work and Dee is simply a radiant and beautiful spirit! They run a free bondage site at….. drum roll please… www.Luvbight.com and in fact won on 4 of the top catageories of the 2008 Bondage awards! (Pretty impressive!)
I also got to connect with Sophia Sky who I had only met briefly at Shibaricon through her “daddy” Jim Duvall (who I REALLY like playing with on occasion as well). Sophia is not only absolutely stunning to look at but also just so much fun to be around. She has a delightfully bubbly energy that I just loved to be around. In fact she and I played together Friday and Saturday nights but I am getting ahead of myself a bit.
Ok so as I was saying .. Thursday, relaxing in the bar.. met a really nice couple named Adrienne and Jay. Adrienne was presenting for the first time on “coming out”. I also got to be reintroduced to Lew Rubens of Bound N Determined and Kink.com I have to say I was really impressed with how unassuming and friendly he was. I am not sure why I had a totally different impression of him, we had only met briefly quite a few years ago the last year Bondcon was held in NY, but I was pleasantly surprised and I very much enjoyed chatting him up as well.
So after a few drinks and a fair bit of chat I called it a night so that I could be bright eyed and bushy tailed to do my first class the next day…
