not so easy when you have a “Type A” personality. I have been told that I do not know how to really relax and I don’t know if that is exactly fair .. but I do know I am not one to sit around and do nothing very often. Sure, every now and then I need to take a “personal day” where I stay in my jammies all day and do something totally lazy like play video games or watch some TV series entire season from beginning to end marathon style (I rarely watch TV during the week as a rule but when I do .. I totally do it in my usual obsessive style). But those days are very few and far between.
Since I pared back my event travel schedule considerably this year it has given me opportunity to spend a lot more quality time with the people that matter most to me and to have some delightfully relaxing fun. My sweetheart took me on a tour of a beautiful old lighthouse in CT a few weeks ago and it was a delightfully romantic trip. I have always had “a thing” for lighthouses and of course we bought the replica to add to my collection. Photos from that day are in the gallery below.
Of course what summer would be complete without a couple of lakeside picnics, barbeques and pool parties with friends and family? (I even got a bit of a tan this year. That hasn’t happened in awhile!) I also saw a few concerts like Rusted Root, KFest, Miranda Cosgrove with the godkid and Gallagher is coming next weekend to Infinity Hall! Caught the new Harry Potter flick right after it came out and even hosted some special friends for several days. I have also had a few heart pounding adventures like riding Bizarro and several other intense coasters at Six Flags NE this year (yes I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie at times and that was one seriously wild ride!)
Yup it has definitely been a fun filled, action packed summer so far and there is another whole month to go! I think I am ready for a nap.
